I) Dew point, wind chill temperature
Repeatedly pressing the exterior temperature display field switches between:
• Exterior temperature ("TEMP" in the display)
• Dew point ("DEW POINT" in display)
The dew point is a temperature point, which depends on the commensurate occurrence of a certain barometric
pressure, a specific temperature and a certain air humidity.
At this temperature the air humidity starts to condense, the so-called dewing; the air humidity condenses in liquid
form (fog, vapour).
If the dew point for water vapour is below 0 °C, the water will condense as snow or hoarfrost.
• Wind chill temperature ("WIND CHILL" in the display)
Humans feel temperatures differently under certain conditions very differently to what a thermometer is able to
display. Particularly during low exterior temperatures the temperature is felt by naked skin as much lower, the faster
the prevailing wind is.
The "wind chill" is defined as the cooling effect on naked skin with a theoretical temperature of 33°C and a wind
speed exceeding 2.6 m/s.
The higher the wind speed and the lower the actual surrounding temperature, the greater the perceived wind chill
effect.
m) Display minimum/maximum values for interior/exterior temperature, alarm function
The following displays and settings are valid for the exterior temperature, the dew point and the wind
chill temperature depending on what you have activated in the display (see Chapter 14.l).
Note that the displays in the following text thus differ from one another (e.g. instead of "MIN TEMP IN"
(interior temperature) rather "MIN TEMP OUT" (exterior temperature), "MIN WINDCHILL" (wind chill
temperature) or "MIN DEWPOINT" (dew point).
The operation for displaying the minimum or maximum values and the setting of lower and upper alarm
limits is carried out in exactly the same way.
Touch either the interior or exterior temperature display area. The respective value begins to flash. Furthermore, the
display shows the following in the text field at the bottom:
* MIN *
*MAX *
*ALARM*
*EXIT*
Touch the "MIN" or "MAX" field to display the minimum or maximum values.
The "ALARM" button displays and allows setting of the upper and lower alarm limits, se below. "EXIT" allows you
to leave the menu.
Depending on selection of "MIN" or "MAX" the following display appears ("IN" is shown if the interior temperature
was selected, "OUT" if exterior temperature selected):
* MIN TEMP IN
16.3 °C
*EXIT*
* MAX TEMP IN
22.2 °C
*EXIT*
68
*
* MIN TEMP OUT *
7.3 °C
*
* MAX TEMP OUT *
25.3 °C
*EXIT*
*EXIT*
