The weather forecast of the weather station is one of the most interesting features. Although,
of course, the weather station cannot replace the professional weather forecast on the radio,
television or Internet through highly-qualified meteorologists, it is remarkable that a precision
of about 70% can be achieved, only based on readings and monitoring of the barometric
pressure of the past days.
We would like to give some explanation regarding the symbols and their meaning:
• If "sunny" is displayed at night, this means a starlit night.
• The display "snow" appears instead of "rain" when the outdoor temperature is below 0°C
(temperature measured via outdoor sensor "1", this is why it should not be operated in, for
example, a cellar room or similar!).
• The display does not represent the current weather conditions but it is a forecast of the next
12 to 24 hours.
• The calculation of the weather forecast based solely on the barometric pressure results
only in a maximum accuracy of about 70%. This means that the real weather can be totally
different the following day. Since the measured barometric pressure is only valid for an area
with a diameter of about 50km, the weather can also change quickly. This is especially the
case in mountainous areas and high mountain regions.
This is why you should not rely on the weather forecast of the weather station but get some
information locally, for example when you want to hike the mountains.
• If there are sudden or bigger fluctuations of the air pressure, the display symbols are
updated to show the change in weather. If the display symbols do not change than either
the air pressure has not changed or the change has occurred so slowly that it could not be
registered from the weather station.
• When the weather forecast "sunny" or "rainy" appears, the display will not change even
when the weather improves (display "sunny") or worsens (display "rainy"), since the display
symbols already represent the two extreme situations.
• The symbols show an improvement or worsening of the weather but this does not
necessarily mean (as shown by the symbols), sunny or rain.
If the current weather is, for example, cloudy and rain is shown than this does not mean
malfunction of the device but it indicates that the air pressure has fallen and a worsening
of the weather can be expected, but this does not necessarily mean rain.
• For the first 12 to 24 hours after initially inserting the batteries, the weather forecasts should
be ignored since the weather station has to collect air pressure data above sea level across
this time span first, in order to be able to make a precise forecast.
