Before first Use
Unpack the unit and check it for any damage in transit. Dispose of
packaging materials or store them out of reach of children. Plastic
bags etc. may become a deadly toy for children!
Remove the transport safety strip that protrudes from the battery
compartment. The unit is ready for use now.
Replacing the Batteries
The voltage detector is powered by two button cells of the type
LR44 (AG13). Replace both batteries as follows, if the unit does not
react on voltage at all even in the most sensitive setting.
1. Slide the battery compartment lid (5) backwards from the voltage
detector.
2. Remove the two existing button cells and replace them with new
ones of the same type. Pay attention to the proper polarity of the
batteries. The polarity is marked inside the battery compartment.
The plus poles face to the rear side of the device.
3. Slide the battery compartment lid back on the battery compart-
ment so it audibly snaps into place.
Localising electric Voltages
1. Turn the sensitivity adjustment wheel (2) on the side in direction
of the minus pole to switch on the voltage detector. The buzzer
emits a signal sound and indicates state of readiness of the
device.
2. Adjust the measuring sensitivity. Turn the adjustment wheel in
direction of the minus symbol to lower the sensitivity. Turn the
wheel in direction of the plus symbol to increase the sensitivity.
3. For function control, hold the detector to a voltage-carrying wall
socket. The detector's measuring tip (1) has to light up in red
colour and a signal sound can be heard, otherwise check the
sensitivity adjustment and the batteries.
