a) In general
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not permitted for safety and
approval reasons (CE). Contains no customer-serviceable parts.
Maintenance, adjustment or repair work may only be carried out by an expert/authorised service
centre which is familiar with the risks involved and the relevant regulations.
• The device is designed according to safety class I. It may only be connected to and used
through an earthed mains socket.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. Position the product so
it is out of the reach of children.
Be especially careful if children are around. Children cannot see the danger arising from incor-
rect use of electrical devices. Children may try to poke objects into the device. There is a risk
of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around since this may become a danger-
ous toy for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental drops, even
from a low height.
b) Installation location
• The dehumidifi er must be placed on a plane, stable, suffi ciently large and waterproof surface.
The dehumidifi er must stand upright; failing to ensure this may damage the compressor due
to interruption of the coolant fl ow.
• The product may be used only indoors. Never place the product in direct vicinity of a bath-
room, shower, bathtub or the like. Lethal hazard due to electric shock!
Never use the product as an industrial building dryer or in places where there are high levels
of dust.
• Close the doors and windows to achieve optimum indoor dehumidifi cation.

Prior to Getting Started
• Remove all packaging and transport securing materials from the dehumidifi er
• Mount the dehumidifi er upright after unpacking and wait for at least 4 hours prior to start-up, so that the
contained coolant can set.
• Always transport the device in a standing position.
Getting Started, Operation
a) In general
• Place the dehumidifi er on a plane, stable, suffi ciently large and waterproof surface. Protect valuable sur-
faces by using a suitable mat to prevent scratches or pressure points.
• Check whether the air fi lter is inserted correctly on the back and whether the water tank is completely
enclosed in the dehumidifi er.
• Plug the earthed mains plug of the dehumidifi er into a regular earthed mains socket (wall socket). The
dehumidifi er emits a signal tone; it is now in the standby mode.
• If the dehumidifi er is not required for a longer time (e.g. for storage), turn it off. Then disconnect the mains
plug from the mains socket. Empty the water tank, clean it carefully to avoid mould formation. Also clean
the air fi lter. Then store the dehumidifi er in a dry and clean place.
We recommend you to transport and store the device only in upright condition, so that any water still
present in the device does not drip from it.
• Do not operate the device in environments where there are high levels of dust, fl ammable
gases, vapours or solvents. There is danger of fi re and explosion!
• Observe a minimum distance of 50 cm to walls, furniture, etc.
Make sure that no objects obstruct or enter the suction or exhaust ports. Never operate the
dehumidifi er in the vicinity of curtains or the like, as these could hinder the air circulation of the
dehumidifi er. This could lead to overheating of the dehumidifi er or even cause fi re or electric
shock!
• The power cable must not be pinched or damaged by contact with sharp edges. Do not place
any objects on the cable, and do not allow it to become kinked. Install the cable where no one
can stumble over it and the plug is easily accessible. Do not install the mains cable under
carpets or the like.
c) Handling and operation
• Never plug in or unplug the plug-in power unit with damp or wet hands. There is a risk of a
life-threatening electric shock!
• Never connect the device to the power supply immediately after it has been transferred from
a cold room into a warm one (e.g. during transport). The condensation that develops in such
cases could damage the device or cause an electric shock! Allow the product to reach room
temperature. Wait until the condensation has evaporated. This might take several hours. Only
after this should the product be plugged in to the power supply and put into use.
• Always pull a mains plug on the gripping surface intended for this purpose. Never unplug the
mains plug from a mains socket by pulling the cable!
• Never cover the product!
• The water tank must be emptied regularly. The water tank can fi ll up quickly depending on the
humidity at the installation location!
• Always turn off the dehumidifi er and unplug the mains plug from the mains socket before you
move the dehumidifi er, empty the water tank or clean the dehumidifi er.
• Clean the air fi lter regularly to ensure optimum dehumidifi cation performance.
• Do not use the product if it is damaged or no longer functions properly. There is a risk of a
life-threatening electric shock!
A safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not work at all or properly (leaking smoke or burning smell, audible cracking
noises, discolouration to the product or the adjacent surfaces),
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions,
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport.
• Never pour any liquids on or next to the product. Do not use the product in or under water! It
can cause fi re or perilous electric shock danger. If any liquid has still managed to enter the
device, immediately turn off the power supply to the mains socket at which the dehumidifi er
is connected (turn off the fuse / circuit breaker / residual current operated circuit breaker of
the associated circuits). Only then can you unplug the mains plug of the dehumidifi er from the
mains socket and contact a specialist. Do not operate the device anymore.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the employer's liability insur-
ance association for electrical systems and operating facilities are to be observed!
• Only use the appliance in a moderate climate, never in a tropical climate.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our technical
service or another specialist.
Follow the safety instructions in this operating manual!
