position REW. If you let go of the button, the device will return to
mode PLAY.
Make sure to take out the ballpoint pen out of the holder to enable
the function.
Automatic Cassette Stop
When the end of the tape is reach in PLAY or RECORD mode, the
device will switch off automatically, a quiet "clicking" can be heard.
In F.FWD or REW mode, the device will not switch off automatically.
Press the STOP button or set the F.FWD/REW button back to mid-
dle position.
Tape Counter
In mode RECORD, Play, F.FWD and CUE the cassette counter
counts forward to 999. After 999 it starts again at 000. In REW REV
mode the cassette counter counts backwards. To make it easier to
find the beginning of a recording, set the cassette counter to 000
with the RESET button before recording.
Tape Speed
For normal recordings the speed of 2.4cm/sec. (SPEED button
towards right) is recommended. At this speed a good sound quality
can be achieved. When using a MC 90 micro cassette, recordings of
up to 1.5 hours can be made (45 min. per side). For longer record-
ings the speed 1.2cm/sec. can be selected. When using a MC 90
micro cassette, a recording time of 3 hours (1.5 hours per side) can
be produced. Please remember to playback the recordings at the
same speed as they have been recorded.

Operation
Insert the batteries and the micro cassette (see chapter: Changing
of Batteries and Inserting Micro Cassette).
Enabling Functions with "ballpoint pen"
All functions on the device are enabled (or disabled) by taking out or
putting in the ballpoint pen on the mounted holder of the device.
When putting the ballpoint pen into the holder, all functions (record-
ing, playback, forward or reverse, etc.) are stopped. If the ballpoint
pen is taken out of the holder all set functions on the controls
(recording, play, forward, reverse, etc.) are enabled. This is why the
ballpoint pen always needs to be taken out of the holder to use the
device. Only use the attached ballpoint pen.
If you want to use a different ballpoint pen from the one included in
the delivery, make sure that it has the same diameter and the same
length as the one included. Otherwise safe operation of the device
can not be guaranteed.
Inserting the Micro Cassette
Make sure that the device is set to the mode STOP. Press the
EJECT button. Insert the micro cassette so that the visible cassette
tape is pointing upward. Press the cassette compartment lid down-
ward until it is completely closed.
Attention: before inserting the micro cassette, make sure that the
tape is taut. If the tape is loose/not taut, there is a risk that it can fold
or wrap itself around the tape driving roller.
