Operation
Inserting the Cassette
Make sure that the device is in STOP mode. Press the EJECT button.
Insert the cassette so that a visible piece of tape is pointing upward.
Press the cassette compartment lid down until it is completely closed.
Caution: make sure that the tape is taut before you insert the cas-
sette. If the tape is loose/not taut there is a risk of it folding or wind-
ing around the tape pinch roller. For operation use brand cassettes
up to a length of C120.
Recording with Exchange Line Activation
(Normal operation)
Turn the switch for voice control VCS (Voice Control System) on the
back of the device off (position OFF). Also observe the chapter:
Voice Control.
Insert the cassette.
Press the RECORD and PLAY button simultaneously.
Make an exchange line connection with your telephone. After the
connection has been made, the device will start recording. The LED
LEVEL flickers during recording. Now you can select whether you
want to listen to the call via the built-in speaker aloud. To do this,
turn the switch for listening-in mode MONITOR from O = off to
L = quiet or to H = loud. Please note that there can be feedback if
the telephone handset is near the speaker. After finishing the call,
replace the telephone handset.
Recording with Voice Control
In this mode recording is not activated via the existing direct current
voltage of the exchange line but only through an existing audio signal.
