a) Explanation of the Indications on the LC Display

A Memory location ("SD" = SD/SDHC card, "USB"
= USB stick, "FLASH" = internal memory)
B For recording format "WAV": sampling rate
For recording format "MP3": bitrate
C Recording format ("MP3", "WAV16bit",
"WAV24bit")
D Recording function
"" = Stop = Recording terminated
" /" = Recording break
"REC" = Recording running
E Recording source ("MIC90", "MIC180",
"MIC360", "Line-In", "EXT.MIC mono",

F Recording level display
G Battery icon for charging condition/function
H Current time
I Remaining recording time (calculated from the remaining capacity of the memory selected (SD/SDHC

b) Starting and Stopping a Recording

• Switch on the recorder and wait until the self-test is completed.
• Before starting a recording, check the settings for the memory location for the recording (see chapter
13. a, item A), the sampling rate (B), recording format (C) and recording source (E). The settings can be
made as described in chapter 15.
• Push the button " /" (4b); the recorder is now ready for recording.
The LED (2) flashes and the icon " /" appears at the top right of the display. The display also indicates
"Record Stop".
In the lower area, the bar chart for the level display (depending on ambience volume) moves.
