Function description of the PIR sensor
• A PIR sensor does not detect the motion of an object but the temperature change within the
detection range (e.g. the movement of a warm animal on the cooler forest floor).
• The detection of an animal through a PIR sensor and the successful recording via a photo or
video thus depend on various factors:
- Size and type of the animal
- Heat radiation by the animal
- Distance of the animal to the game camera
- Ambient temperature
- Speed at which the animal moves
• With the control unit connected the LED (2) flashes red if the PIR sensor detects a tempera-
ture change in the detection area. This enables you to check the correct adjustment of the
game camera.
Note that if you don't press any button, the display or the game camera will switch
off automatically after approximately 3 minutes in order to save power. If you wish
to check the adjustment again, move the sliding switch briefly to the "OFF" position
and then back to the "ON" position to reactivate the device.
Operating the OSD menu
To access the OSD menu and to carry out settings, proceed as follows:
• Connect the external control unit to the mini USB socket (15). Switch the game camera on, if
required.
• After several seconds, a function and status indication is shown in the LC display (19):
A Symbol for photo and video mode
B Time/date display enabled
C Number of existing photos/videos
D Available memory
E Time (HH:MM:SS)
F Date (MM-DD-JJJJ)
G Video cable is connected
H Battery status display
I Memory card is inserted
J Pre-set photo resolution
• With the "MENU" key you can access and exit the OSD menu.
• Using the buttons "S" and
you can select the desired setting function.

• The "►SHOT" key is used to change a setting
• The setting performed can be confirmed and saved using the "OK► " button.
To save power the display automatically switches off after approx. 3 minutes if no
buttons are pressed. Then move the on/off switch to the "OFF" position and back to
the "ON" position and access the OSD menu again.
The following setting functions are available:
"Mode"
This function is used to select whether the game camera saves only pictures

Confirm the setting using the "OK►" button, as described above, otherwise
the setting will not be saved.

card will be lost during the formatting process.
"Image Size"
This function is used to select whether the photos are saved 3 and 6 mega
pixels. The latter requires more memory on the memory card inserted. Fur-
thermore, the write process takes more time.
With this function you can set the resolution of the videos saved by the
"Video Size"
game camera. You can choose between 320 x 240 and 640 x 480 pixels.
When you select this function and confirm with the button "OK►" the current

date and time will be displayed. Use the button"►SHOT" to select the posi-
tion that you want to change. With the buttons "S" or

Confirm the settings as usual using the "OK ►" button, otherwise the set-
tings will not be saved.
Here you can set how many photos the game camera will take when the
"Capture Number"
PIR motion detector is activated. You can set 1, 2, or 3 photos.
"Video Length"
Here you can set how long the video recording will take when the PIR mo-
tion detector is activated. A time period of 5....60 seconds can be set.
"
Interval"
This function can be used to choose for how long the game camera shall be
paused after a recording. A time period from 0 - 55 seconds resp. 1 - 60 minutes
can be set.
Example: You set a time period of 1 minute. If the game camera has been
triggered by the PIR motion sensor and has taken a photo or recorded a vid-
eo, it is only in active mode again when this pre-set time period has elapsed.

you can set the
"F"
This prevents a continuous recording if an animal is in the detection area
for a longer time.
"Sense Level"
With this function you can choose between 3 levels for the sensitivity of the
PIR sensor: "
= low sensitivity.
Note that at a high level of sensitivity faulty activations may occur. Howev-
er, at a lower sensitivity only larger objects (or higher temperature changes
in the detection area) will be detected.
"Default Set"
After pressing the "OK►" button, all settings will be reset to factory set-
tings.
Inserting/Removing the Memory Card
• Push the bottom flap (4) to the side (pay attention to arrow on the bottom flap) and open it by
90°.
• Switch the game camera off (switch position to "OFF").
• Insert a memory card (SD or SDHC, max. 32 GB) in the corresponding slot (14), until it clicks
into place. Please pay attention to the correct orientation. Prior to this step, check that the
write protection of the memory card is disabled.
• To remove the memory card, slightly push it into the slot, and then release the memory
card. The locking mechanism in the slot pushes the memory card out slightly and it can be
removed easily.
• Close the bottom flap (4).
Recording or viewing a picture or video manually
Record picture/video
To test the function of the game camera and to check that the adjustment to the desired detec-
tion area is optimal, you can take a photo (or record a video) manually, as you would do with
a conventional camera.
To do this, proceed as follows:
• Connect the external control unit to the mini USB socket (15). Switch the game camera on, if
required.
• After several seconds, a function and status indication is shown in the LC display (19). Check that
the symbol for the memory card is shown as only then can the test photos and videos be saved.
• Using the keys "S" and "
sponding icon is shown at the top left in the display.
The button "►SHOT" is used as recording button; if you press this button while in the photo
mode, a picture will be saved. In the video mode, this button is used to start and stop a video
recording.
• To save power the display automatically switches off after approx. 3 minutes if no buttons are
pressed. Then move the sliding switch to the "OFF" position and back to the "ON" position to
reactivate the display.
Viewing pictures/videos
• Connect the external control unit to the mini USB socket (15). Switch the game camera on, if
required.
• After several seconds, a function and status indication is shown in the LC display (19). Check
that the symbol for the memory card is shown as only then can the pictures/videos be viewed.
• If you press the "OK►" button, the playback mode will be activated.
• Using the "S" or "
" button, the photos or videos available on the memory card can be dis-

played one after another.

Please note that videos cannot be played. Only the first image of the video will be
displayed, but not the running video image.
• By pressing the "MENU" button, the currently displayed picture/video or all pictures/videos
can be deleted. Switch between the two delete modes using the "►SHOT" key.

After confirmation with the "OK" button, a confirmation prompt will de displayed ("

with the "OK►" button.
Using the "MENU" key you can return to viewing the pictures/videos.
Recording mode
• Disconnect the control unit, if connected, from the game camera.
• Move the on/off switch (16) to the switch position "ON".
• The LED (2) flashes red for 10 seconds. Afterwards, it is operational with the settings per-
formed in the OSD menu.
In recording mode, there is no further indication by the LED in order to not scare
away the animal or to not catch the attention of any hiker.
• Bear in mind that, inherent to the principle and due to the IR light (8), the recording of pic-
tures or videos at night is done in black/white monochrome. The IR light (8) is automatically
switched on if the brightness sensor (1) integrated in the game camera detects a low ambient
brightness.
