After that time has elapsed, the device switches off and 5 buz-
zers are heard. Then you can remove the food.
Automatic Defrost (DEFROST)
With the defrost programs you can automatically defrost your
food in two different ways. Select defrost according to weight
or time.
1. Select one of the defrost programmes by pressing the
DEFROST button repeatedly:
dEF I Defrost according to weight from 0.1 – 1.0 kg
dEF II Defrost according to time
2. Press the START/+30SEC./CONFIRM button to confi rm
your selection.
3. Use the rotary knob to set the desired weight/time.
4. Press the START/+30SEC./CONFIRM button to start.
NOTE:
Every further press of the START/+30SEC./CONFIRM button
increases the operating time by 30 seconds.
After that time has elapsed, the device switches off and 5 buz-
zers are heard. Then you can remove the food.
For grilling please use the grilling grid. Use suitable heatresistant
tableware or place the food to be grilled directly on the grid.
It is not necessary to „pre-heat" the grill as the infrared grill
produces radiation energy immediately.
To grill and gratinate food, proceed as follows:
1. Press the GRILL button until „G-1" appears in the display.
2. Press the START/+30SEC./CONFIRM button to confi rm
your selection.
3. Set the desired grilling time between 5 seconds and
95 minutes using the rotating button.

After half of the time has elapsed, a buzzer reminds you to
turn the food over.

Combination of Microwave and Grill Operation
(GRILL time-controlled)
When these settings are used the microwave and grill alternate
within the preselected time in the ratio:
G-2 high grill level
G-3
medium grill level
G-4 low grill level
1. Press the GRILL button until the desired function appears.
2. Set the desired grilling time between 5 seconds and
95 minutes using the rotating button.
3. To start cooking press the START/+30SEC./CONFIRM
button.
After that time has elapsed, the device switches off and 5 buz-
zers are heard. Then you can remove the food.
Combination of Microwave and Grill Operation
(COMBI. temperature-controlled)
In these settings the microwave and grill also alternate. You can
however set a cooking temperature.
1. Press the COMBI. button until the desired temperature
appears.
2. Set the desired grilling time between 5 seconds and
95 minutes using the rotating button.
3. To start cooking press the START/+30SEC./CONFIRM
button.
Tips on Combined Operation
If you prepare food using the combined microwave-grill functions
you should note the following:
For large, thick foods such as roast pork the microwave time is
correspondingly longer than for small, fl at foods. However, in
the case of the grill it is the other way round. The closer the
food is to the grill, the faster it turns brown. This means that
when large joints are prepared using combined operation the
grilling time may be shorter than for smaller joints.
Please use the grid for grilling in order to achieve rapid and
even browning. (Exception: large, thick items of food are grilled
directly on the rotating plate!)
