Exchanging Batteries; Operation - Conrad PS-1 Bedienungsanleitung

Avoid any mechanical stress of the device, contact with moisture
and liquids has to be avoided. The device may only be outdoors
with dry weather or adequate protection.
The electronic pocket scales PS- 1 is a precise measuring instru-
ment. Operation in the vicinity of strong electromagnetic radiation
(electric motors, mobile phones, transmitting masts, etc.) may lead
to deviations of the display.
Interfering ambient conditions such as air drafts, vibrations or consi-
derable changes of the temperature are to be avoided.
After overloading or opening the device guarantees will not be accepted.
Inserting Batteries/ Exchanging Batteries
For operating the pocket scales three micro cells (type AAA) which
are not included in the scope of delivery are required.
Battery Display "LOW- BAT"
When batteries are used up "LO" is shown in the LCD-display (3).
When this is displayed exchange batteries immediately as no precise
measuring values can be guaranteed with insufficient battery capacity.

Exchanging Batteries

For inserting/exchanging batteries do as follows:
- Slide open the covering of the battery chamber (7) in the rear of
the pocket scales.
- Remove the empty batteries and exchange them with three new
ones of the type micro (AAA). Pay attention to correct polarity (see
figure on the fold-out page or imprint at the battery chamber).
- Slide back the covering of the battery chamber (7) on the pocket
scales until it locks into place.

Pay attention to correct polarity of the batteries. Batte-
ries inserted incorrectly may destroy the device, guaran-
tee will not be accepted. Remove the batteries from the
device if you are not using the device for a prolonged
period of time and keep them separately as leaking bat-
teries might damage the scales.
Do not leave batteries unattended as children might
swallow them. Leaky or damaged batteries may cause
cauterisation when in contact with the skin. Never try to
recharge batteries. Do not throw them into fire!
Environmental Note!
The end user is legally bound (old battery directive) to return all used
batteries and storage batteries (round cells to lead acid storage bat-
teries), the disposal in the household waste is forbidden.
You may either return your used batteries and storage batteries to
our subsidiaries or to our head quarters in Hirschau free of charge or
like before to the communal waste disposal (reusable waste facili-
ties) which are obliged to accept them.

Operation

Weighing
- Place the pocket scales on a solid surface.
- Switch on the pocket scales by pressing the switch-on key (2).
Now the scales will conduct a "Power-up" test. For app. 3 se-
conds all segments of the LCD-display (3) are shown, subse-
quently the LCD-display (3) changes to "0,0".
