Description
Validates the installation of the Linux distribution of
Novell openSUSE 11.4 installation DVD from the internal DVD/CD
drive. For details, see section "Notes on installing and configuring"
Validates the capability of the Linux distribution to detect all important
devices, for example:
● Processors
● Memory (RAM)
● All connected drives (fixed and removable)
● USB ports
● Mouse
● VGA Video Adapter
● Ethernet controller
Validates that the Linux distribution can be booted with selected
hardware using the "Grub" boot manager.
Validates the functionality of the LAN channel (Ethernet controller)
with DHCP, fixed IP addresses and remote administration (VNC).
Verifies that the selected hardware configuration works properly with
the selected Linux distribution.
Verifies proper function of monitor adapter across selected
resolutions and color depths.
Verifies proper X Server operation.
Checks the function of the audio system and audio hardware.
Verifies proper function of the system serial and parallel ports.
Verifies proper function of pointing device and its components
(buttons, wheel, etc.)
Validates all keys, control keys, function keys, etc.
