Operation
General
The appliance is intended only for domestic use, not for professional use.

Using for the first time
1. Clean the baking plate and trays before using the appliance for the first time (see
Cleaning and maintenance).
Note
The appliance may emit a little smoke and a characteristic smell when you switch it on for the
first time. This is normal, and will soon stop. Make sure the appliance has sufficient ventilation.
Use
Preheating
1. Put the appliance on a level and heat-resistant surface.
2. Put the plug into the wall socket.
3. Adjust the thermostat dial to the required setting. The indicator light will illuminate to show that the
heating element has been switched on.
4. After waiting a few minutes check whether the indicator light is extinguished. Once the indicator
light has extinguished the appliance is ready for use.
Note
During use the heating element will switch in and out to keep the temperature of the baking
plate constant. Consequently the indicator light will also occasionally be illuminated.
Baking
1. Allow the appliance to preheat (see Preheating).
2. Grease the baking plate with a little oil.
3. Place the food you wish to grill on the baking plate.
4. Grill the food until it is done. Turn the food over occasionally whilst it is being grilled to ensure that
both sides are evenly cooked.
5. Remove the food from the baking plate and place on a plate. Take care! The food is hot.
Racletting/grilling
1. Allow the appliance to preheat (see Preheating).
2. Fill a dish with, for example, pieces of cheese, meat, fish or vegetables.
3. Put the filled dish on the stainless-steel plate under the baking plate.
