9. Maintenance and Cleaning

There are no parts to service on the inside of the ATX power pack, therefore
you may never open it. Only an expert or a workshop may service and repair
and thus open the ATX power pack.
The fuse implemented in the ATX power pack can only be exchanged with
special tools. Therefore, do not attempt to change the fuse yourself, leave
this up to an expert respectively workshop.
The ventilator installed in the ATX power pack draws in more or less dust over time, which
deposits on the ventilator blades depending on the installation site of the computer You
can remove this dust from the outside with a vacuum cleaner.
Separate the ATX power pack from the mains voltage beforehand, pull the
power plug!
Use a clean, dry and soft cloth for cleaning the outside of the ATX power pack.
10. Disposal

• Install all cables in your PC clean and straight and make sure that the cables are not
squashed or damaged otherwise. Protect the cables from the sharp edges in your PC's
housing. Make sure they do not come into the PC's cooler.
• Use cable clips for fixing the cables in place in the PC casing.
• Check: whether the power button on the front of your ATX housing is connected with
the corresponding connection on the mainboard.
Because normally, turning on via the mains switch does not turn the PC on
(can possibly set/activated in the mainboard's BIOS).
• Close your computer's housing and reconnect the other devices, cables and acces-
sories.
• Check the correct setting of the voltage selection switch. Depending on the position of
the switch, the number for the mains voltage is indicated on the voltage selection
switch (230 = 230V~, 115 = 115V~).
In case of the wrong setting, the power pack and the connected components
are destroyed, there is additional the risk of explosion or fire!! The correct
setting for Europe is "230" (for 230 V ~).
• Now connect the computer with the mains voltage and switch the ATX power pack on
via the mains switch on the back of the ATX power pack.
Normally, the PC doesn't start yet. Briefly press the power button on the
front of your ATX housing in order to turn the PC on.
• If your computer does not start properly, turn it off immediately and check all settings
and cable connections.
Prior to opening the housing for checking, make sure you turn off all devices
and separate them from the mains voltage, pull the power plug, see above!
