2. Proper use

The DVT40 wireless video intercom system consists of a DVT40T door
intercom with a protective cover and a DVT40M mobile unit with
charging station and power supply unit.
The mobile unit has a 2.4 inch monitor and is operated by buttons.
When the bell button on the door intercom is pressed, it rings on the
intercom itself and on the mobile unit (ring tone of the mobile unit can
be changed, as can the ring duration and volume of the mobile unit and
door intercom). The live image from the camera appears on the screen
and a snapshot is saved on the mobile unit (this function can be
deactivated). When the talk button is pressed on the mobile unit, a
conversation can take place using the half-duplex method (intercom
mode); a hands-free system is fitted to both devices. Snapshots can
optionally be saved during the conversation and the optional door
release can be activated.
It is possible to switch on the camera image on the mobile unit for visual
monitoring, start a conversation through the door intercom, save
snapshots or trigger the optional door release at the press of a button
and at any time.
A colour picture will be displayed. When it is dark, the white LEDs built
into the intercom are activated to illuminate the face of the person in
front of the camera and the image appears in colour. Additional lighting
can be installed to improve the picture quality at low ambient light
levels.
The video and audio transmission is wireless using a frequency of 2.4
GHz.
The system can be extended to include a second intercom and a second
mobile unit.
The following devices can also be connected to the intercom if required:
#
an electric door release that can be unlocked from the mobile unit
#
a signal generator (e.g. a bell or a flashing light) that is triggered
when the ring button is pressed
#
a button to activate a connected door release
The outdoor station is for surface mounting and is weatherproof
(Protection class IP55), it can be mounted in a location outdoors which
is sheltered from direct rainfall. The charging station with power supply
unit and the mobile unit must be protected against moisture.
The door intercom can be operated either with 2x LR14(C) batteries or
with a 9-12 V DC power adapter (neither supplied).
The lithium battery in the mobile unit is charged automatically on the
charging station, which is connected to the mains (230V~, 50 Hz) via
the power supply unit supplied. The integrated battery makes the
mobile unit portable.
Any other use or modification of the device is not authorised. No liability
will be accepted for consequential damages or for damages caused by
improper use or incorrect operation. No liability will be accepted for
consequential damages caused by any function or by malfunction.
Unless any liability is specifically required by law, claims for damages,
in particular those for personal injury or property damage caused by
non-functioning or malfunctioning of the machine, are excluded.
