Insert the pole vertically into the soil. Do not beat with a
hammer or similar on the pole. Place the solar repeller on the
pole.
Remove the transparent film from the solar module.

Working

In daylight the build-in solar module (5) converts light into
electricity, which is stored in the rechargeable batteries. With this
stored energy the mole repeller can be operated day and night.
Of course the changing seasons with their shifts in sunlight have
an effect on the charging state of the batteries.
Therefore, it is advisable to expose the mole repeller to the
sun for some time before operation to fully charge the
batteries. After the batteries have been fully charged, i.e. after
12 hours in full sunlight or when using a power converter, the
mole repeller will work continuously for 100 hours. A 25%
charge is sufficient to power the mole repeller for 24 hours.
To charge the batteries without operating the mole repeller at
the same time, unplug the head from the vibrating pole.
To charge the batteries with a power
supply unit, remove the head. Inside
the head you will find the charging
socket (4). Use a 9 V power mains adapter (3) only to make
sure the batteries are correctly charged. Pay attention to the
proper polarity of the batteries. The power supply unit with the
article no. 55 79 18 is suitable for charging the mole repeller.
It can be ordered separately from Westfalia.

Replacing the Batteries

After 1 to 1½ years the batteries loose their capacity. In this case
they should be replaced.
1. Remove the 6 screws on the underside of the head. Now the
bottom can be removed carefully.
