External power supply – "BATTERY OFF"
Fault
Device does not

device does not cool.

dark after switching
on the device.

Possible cause
There is no voltage
present in the 12/24 V
socket (cigarette lighter)
in the vehicle.
Plug fuse is defective.
Defective compressor.
Battery voltage is too low. Test the battery and charge it as needed.
The power supply is
too low.
The cigarette lighter
socket is dirty.
This results in a poor
electrical contact.
The fuse of the 12/24 V
plug has blown.
The vehicle fuse has
blown.
The device has switched
off due to an internal fault.
The battery monitor
is checking the
power supply.
Troubleshooting
Suggested remedy
The ignition must be switched on in most
vehicles to supply current to the cigarette
lighter.
Replace the plug fuse, see "Replacing the
plug fuse (12/24 V)" on page 42.
This can only be repaired by an
authorised repair centre.
Check the external power supply.
Pull the plug out of the socket and make
the following checks.
If the plug of your cooler becomes very
warm in the cigarette lighter socket, either
the lighter socket must be cleaned or the
plug has not been assembled correctly.
Replace the fuse (8 A) in the 12 V plug,
see "Replacing the plug fuse (12/24 V)"
on page 42.
Replace the vehicle's 12/24 V socket fuse
(usually 15 A). Please refer to your
vehicle's operating manual.
This can only be repaired by an
authorised repair centre.
Wait about three minutes until the test has
been completed.
