Set-up instructions for the umbrella swift
Tipp: Die Schirmhaspel kann nicht nur in Kombination mit
einem Garnwickler zum Wickeln von Knäuel verwendet
werden sondern auch:
Garn von Hand wickeln. Garne lassen sich durch eine
drehbare Haspel auch einfacher von Hand wickeln ohne zu
verheddern.
Zum schnellen Aufribbeln. Dafür den Faden um die Haspel
wickeln und diese drehen, um den Faden zu ribbeln und
gleichzeitig aufzuwickeln.
Zum Spannen und Trocknen von Garnen. Nach dem
Waschen müssen Garne trocknen und werden dabei glatt
gezogen.
Der Aufbau der Haspel ist ganz einfach. Entnehmen Sie alle Teile aus

dem Karton und schrauben Sie die Klemmschrauben in die Gewinde.
Die längere Schraube dient der Befestigung am Tisch und wird von
unten in die Befestigung geschraubt. Die Klemme passt für Tische
bis 5 cm Plattenstärke.
The assembly of the swift is very easy. Take all the parts out of the box
and place the screws into the mounting holes. The longer screw is
used to attach the swift to the table and is screwed into the mounting
from below. The clamp is suitable for tables with a top thickness of
up to 5 cm (2")

schraube unterhalb des Schirms auf (gegen den Uhrzeigersinn) und
verschieben den Verstellhebel nach oben, bis der gewünschte Um-
fang erreicht ist. Zum Fixieren, drehen Sie die Schraube wieder zu.
To open the umbrella, turn the clamping screw below the umbrella
(anticlockwise) and move the adjusting lever upwards until the desi-

über den leicht geöffneten Schirm, wärend die Verstellschraube ge-
öffnet ist und schieben den Verstellhebel nach oben, bis das Garn mit
leichter Spannung mittig und fest auf dem Schirm sitzt. Schließen Sie
die Schraube wieder.
To fix a strand of yarn, unknot it and remove all the ribbons that hold
the strand in shape. Pull the strand over the slightly open umbrella
while the clamping screw is open and push the adjusting lever up-
wards until the yarn is centred and firmly attached to the umbrella.

Tip: The swift can be used not only in combination with a
yarn winder to wind balls of yarn, but also:
Winding yarn by hand. A rotating reel also makes it easier
to wind the yarn by hand without tangling.
For quick unravelling. To do this, wind the thread around
the swift and turn it to ripple the thread and wind it up at
the same time.
For stretching and drying yarns. After washing, the yarns
have to dry and are stretched to make them straight.
