If you cannot clear the fault yourself, contact your dealer or call the Olympia hotline.
Cause
Power plug is not prop-
erly connected in the
power socket.
The paper is too thin and,
as a result, does not
touch the mechanical
sensor.
The motor has over-
heated and switched off
automatically. It is possi-
ble that paper has
jammed in the cutting
mechanism.
Too many sheets have
been inserted in the in-
feed.
The paper size inserted
was too large (larger than
A4).
The paper was inserted
crooked.
The sliding switch is set
to Fwd.
Paper has caught at the
mechanical sensor.
The device does not
stand on a level surface.

Solution
Insert the plug properly.
Try using thicker paper. If the device then
operates, fold the thin paper and try
shredding it again.
Clearing a paper jam:
1. Move the sliding switch to its Rev
(Reverse) position to dislodge and
remove the jammed paper.
2. If this proves ineffective, disconnect
the power plug. Remove the shredder
attachment and remove any jammed
paper from the cutting mechanism
manually.
Wait 30-40 minutes (until the motor has
cooled down) and try to use the shredder
again.
Move the sliding switch to its Rev (Re-
verse) position to remove the jammed
paper. Then insert maximally 5 sheets of
A4 (80 g/m²) (unfolded).
Move the sliding switch to its Rev (Re-
verse) position to remove the jammed
paper. Insert the paper as straight as
possible.
Move the sliding switch to Auto (Auto-
matic operation).
Remove the paper from the cutting
mechanism (refer to "Clearing a Paper
Jam").
Set the device down on a level surface.
