Carrying out welding with the Geberit
electrofusion machine ESG 3
Prerequisites
• Pipes, fittings and welding joints are dry and free from dirt
• Pipes and fittings are prepared in accordance with the
installation instructions for Geberit electrofusion sleeve
couplings
• Pipe surfaces are prepared in accordance with the installation
instructions for Geberit electrofusion tape for anchor point

Do not weld wet or water-filled pipes
An isolation transformer must be included in the circuit
when carrying out electrofusion work in damp areas
Allow the Geberit electrofusion sleeve coupling or
Geberit electrofusion tape to cool down before
conducting a secondary welding process
Do not touch the pipe, electrofusion sleeve coupling,
plug contacts or electrofusion tape during the welding
process or during the cooling-down phase
The pipe to be welded must be kept in a tension-free
position during the welding process and the cooling-
down phase
Air draughts through the pipe interior must be avoided
