• Linear phase filters• (Sessel function type)
realize natural and equal sound levels in and
around the passband frequency.
• The sound balance of front and rear can be
adjusted without affecting a sub-woofer
sound.
• 40 Hz low boost control allows dynamic bass
reproduction.
•Linear phase filters (Bessel function type)
Most of the channel dividers currently available
employ flat response filters (Butterworth type). The
group delay characteristic of this type of fillers is
m~h
worse than that of the linear phase filters,
and this causes transient distortion in the a1.1dio
signals at each filler's crossover frequency. To
reduce that distortion and to obtain hi·fi so1.1nd,
linear phase filters (Bessel function type} are 1.1sed
for the XEC-500.

Precautions
• This uni! is designed for negative ground
12V DC operation only.
• The nameplate indicating operating vottage,
etc. is located on the bottom exterior.
• Avoid instalting the unit where:
- lt woutd be subject to high temperatures,
such as from direct suntight or from hot
air from the heater.
- lt woutd be exposed to rain or moisture.
- lt woutd be subject to dust or dirt.
• lf your car is parked in direct sunlight and
there is a considerable rise in temperatu„
inside the car, allow the unit to cool off '
before operating.
• lf this unit is placed too close to the car
radio, an interference may occur. In this
case, separate the unit from the car radio.
