Step 4:
Test and Operate Sensor
T urn on the power supply. Verify that the voltage is still

between +2.5 and +5.0 V DC.
Note: When using the PWM output, the system may
only be operated at +2.5 to +5.5 V DC
T urn the multimeter to a range that covers more than

200 mV, e. g., 2000 mV
Place an object within range of the sensor

Y our multimeter now shows a voltage that changes

proportionally to the target distance. The voltage will
rise/fall between 0 and around 200 mV.
