Multifunctional display (at the bottom)
Master display (at the top)
indicates the activated function, for instance the
frequency is indicated during radio reception
without PCI.
CPS button (Cassette Program Search)
The CPS function makes it possible to skip or
repeat music tracks in combination with fast tape
transport.
SCA button (SCAN)
The SCA function makes it possible to scan the
cassette in combination with fast tape transport.
Cassette compartment
MTL button (Metal, distortion correction 70 usec)
For playing chrome dioxide (CrO,) and metal cas-
settes, this button should be pressed in (lights up).
For ferric trioxide (Fe,O,) and ferrichrome (FeCr)
tapes this function should be switched off by pres-
sing the button (distortion correction 4120 sec).
Button oa(Dolby NR)*
Press this button (lights up) in order to playback
- cassettes recorded using the Dolby NR system.
MOD button (Mode)
By pressing the MOD button again, you switch
directly over to the initial functions. This button is
also used for entering the code number (theft
deterrent).

Buttons —<J
for adjusting volume.
Press the button to the right - the volume increases
gradually
Press the button to the left - the volume decreases
gradually.
After pressing the MOD button, the word "FADER"
lights up in red above the symbol 4 ..
You may now adjust the volume of the speakers -
by pressing the button to the left, the volume of the
rear speakers increases, by pressing the button to
the right, the volume of the front speakers
increases.
AVC button (Automatic volume control)
Button pressed (lights up) - the volume is adjusted
automatically. Switch this function off by pressing
the button again.
Buttons <> (search tuning)
Press button to the right - search tuning starts
towards the higher frequencies.
Press button to the left - search tuning starts
towards the lower frequencies.
After pressing the MOD button (the word BALANCE
lights up), balance may be adjusted by pressing
buttons <>.
Press button < ~ volume of the left speakers
increases gradually
Press button > - volume of the right speakers
increases gradually.
REG button (regional)
For selecting receivable regional programs trans-
mitted by an FM radio station while the PCi system
is activated, e.g. NDR1: N (Niedersachsen), H
(Hamburg), S (Schleswig-Holstein).
During standard radio reception (without PCl)
manual search tuning on all wavebands may be
activated by pressing the button.
By pressing the REG button again or if you switch
to a different waveband, this function is switched
off again.
