The portion of the cassette where the tape is exposed should be
facing downward.
Close the cassette holder.
2. Select the requred DOLBY NR.

Use the same type of noise reduction in recording and play-
back. Refer to page 30 for details.
3. Set the reverse mode.

To listen to only one side, switch to = position.
To listen to both sides of the tape, switch to <> position.
Refer to page 30 for details.
4, Start playback.

The power will turn on if it was off (in standby mode) when the
button was pressed.
The input selector automatically switches to TAPE.
To stop playback, press the STOP button.
Note:

If the input selector is changed while a CD is being played, the
CD player will pause for approximately one minute.
Make sure the unit is in the stop mode.

To wind up the left reel, press the <« button.
To wind up the right reel, press the »® button.
To stop, press the Ml button.
Note:
If these buttons are pressed while the tape is being played, the
unit will enter skip function mode. See the following section for
details.

SKIP function
The tape must be playing in order to use this function.
The tape transport direction is B in the following explanation.
Press the p» button to skip ahead to the next selection where
normal play will continues.
Press the <<
button to skip back to the beginning of the cur-
rently playing selection and play back again.

If either of these buttons are pressed while the tape deck is
in skip mode (while the tape deck is searching for the next or
previous selection), the skip mode will be cancelled and the
tape will begin to rewind or fast forward.

Note:
The skip function operate by detecting the sections on the tape
between selections where nothing is recorded.
Therefore it may not operate properly under circumstances such
as the following:
If the blank sections are too short.
If the music is continuous, being interrupted by narration, etc.
If there are places in the music that could be mistaken for
breaks between selections, such as soft sections immedi-
ately followed by joud sections.
If there is excessive noise in the portions between selections.
