6 – Device-specific safety
information for jigsaws
• Hold the device by the insulated
handle surfaces only when carrying
out tasks during which it is
possible that the tool will come
across hidden power cables or its
own cable. Touching a live electrical
line may also energize metallic device
parts and cause an electric shock.
• Changing the saw blade and making
settings to the saw shoe may only be
carried out when the unit is
unplugged.
• To fix the adjustment wrench to the
unit, only use the integrated holder.
• The saw blade must be locked tight
into the holder. Check, at regular
intervals, that it is seated firmly.
• The saw shoe must lie firmly across
the entire surface.
• Do not process materials that contain
asbestos.
• Wood dust and materials containing
fibres may be hazardous to health.
For this reason, always work with a
dust protection mask and with the
dust extractor switched on.
• Anybody else in the vicinity should
thus also wear a dust mask.
• If the power cable is damaged, do not
continue to the use the machine.
Safety notes for the laser marking aid
CAUTION! Do not look at the
laser beam!
• Never point the laser beam towards
people or animals.
• Never use the laser beam on very
reflective materials. There is a risk
posed by the reflected light.
• Have repairs to the laser marking aid
carried out by specialists only.
• Do not introduce hard objects into the
laser optic (14).
• Clean the laser optic with a soft, dry
brush.
• Looking into the laser outlet (14) with
optical instruments, e.g., a magnifying
glass, from a distance within 100 mm
may lead to damage to the eyes.
• Caution – if equipment is used that
does not match the described
operating equipment or any another
procedures are executed, this may
lead to hazardous radiation exposure.
