Physical injuries and damage to property and the
environment through residual media
Upon contact with hazardous media (e.g. oxygen, acetylene,
flammable or toxic substances), harmful media (e.g. corro-
sive, toxic, carcinogenic, radioactive), and also with refriger-
ation plants and compressors, there is a danger of physical
injuries and damage to property and the environment.

During dismounting it is important to avoid any damage of the sealing
surfaces.
It is recommended to purge the entire pipeline with inert
gas (e. g. nitrogen) before dismounting it. Put the valve in
half-open position to purge and depressurise the valve body
cavity. It is the responsibility of the operator to define this
procedure.

Wear the requisite protective equipment (see chapter
3.5 "Personal protective equipment").
