First steps with the 8-channel digital recorder
To start the 8-channel digital recorder:
1.
Insert the hard disk as described and lock the HDD frame.
2.
Connect all cameras with the camera inputs on the rear of the digital recorder.
3.
Connect the monitor output of the digital recorder with the monitor input of your monitor.
Since the recorder shows the menu partly in colour (search), you should use a colour
monitor.
4.
Use the power adapter supplied (230V AC/12V DC) to supply the 8-channel digital
recorder with electricity.
5.
The digital recorder is now switched on. The digital recorder now checks for correct
installation of the hard disk and the number of connected cameras.
You now see the following messages in sequence:
"HDD INITIAL", "IDENTIFY DISK" and "CHECK DISK OK!"
6.
After about 10 seconds, the digital recorder ends the test. Camera inputs at which no
video signal is detected are shown black on the screen.
The 8-channel digital recorder is now ready for programming.
If you see the message "IDENTIFY DISK ERROR" on the monitor, you first have to format the hard
disk so that the recorder can identify it.
Do this by selecting HARD DISK SETUP
process takes about a minute.
Caution: All data on the hard disk is deleted!
If you are asked for a password, see SET PASSWORT (page 25). The factory setting of the
password is 12345678.
