1.3 General warnings
Incorrect installation, adjustment, alteration, maintenance or repair may lead to material or
environmental damage and/or injuries. The appliance should therefore be installed, adapted
or converted by a skilled and qualified installer, taking into account national and international
regulations. Faulty installation, adjustment, alteration, maintenance activity or repair shall render
the warranty void.
2.0 Placement
2.1 Roof curb [8] [9]
The roof curb must be fitted on the roof in the correct manner.
Rotate bracket A [8] downwards to secure the roof curb to the roof or construction.
The MDV roof fan can be mounted on the roof curb. Make sure that a rubber seal is fitted
between the mounting bolt and the roof fan [9]. This ensures a watertight seal.
-
Check if the fan can rotate freely.
2.2 Automatic butterfly valve [7] [11]
In order to prevent water leakage, the automatic butterfly valve [7] provided with bracket
supports must be secured to the roof curb. The bracket supports keeps the automatic butterfly
valve in place. Apply sealant to the automatic butterfly valve to prevent air leakage and noise
production [11]. Caution: do not screw the automatic butterfly valve to the MDV, this may cause
water leakage!
2.3 Electrical installation
Electrical connection is made through a terminal box, which is stated on the casing. The fan must
be connected to the mains by a qualified electrician only.
-
Check if the voltage and frequency corresponds with the specifications put on the fan's ID
plate.
-
All electrical wiring and connections must be carried out in compliance with national safety
regulations.
-
Check the direction of rotation.
-
Important! The fan must be grounded.
