5.1 Defrosting

Note: The hole at the bottom of the
refrigerator at the back is closed and
has no effect on the cooling system.
Defrosting the Refrigerator
Compartment
Excessive frost will affect the performance
of the refrigerator. The ice-making
compartment must be defrosted at least
twice a year, or when ice exceeds 7 mm
thick.
For this:
• Make sure the Drain Tray Flap is in place.
• Activate the Winter mode. At the end
of defrosting set the previous mode
depending on the ambient temperature.
• The day before you defrost the freezer,
set the thermostat dial to position '5' to
freeze the food completely.
• During defrosting, the frozen food must
be well wrapped and kept in a cool place.
The inevitable rise in temperature will
shorten their storage life. Consume these
foods within a short period of time.
• Switch the refrigerator off at the socket
outlet and disconnect the mains plug.
• Leave the door open. To accelerate the
defrosting process, one or more bowls of
warm water can be placed in the freezer
compartment.
• Dry the inside of the unit and the Dripping
Tray with a sponge or a clean cloth and
set the thermostat knob to position '5'.
