Using the Software

There are "DVD-RAM Driver," "WinDVD," "B's Recorder," and "B's CLiP" in DVD Drive
Utility Disc.
Install DVD-RAM Driver before installing WinDVD, B's Recorder and B's CLiP.
CAUTION
Do not install the software using a drive other than this drive. Be sure to insert this
drive into your computer, and then insert the disc for installation.
Close all other software application before running the Setup program for the soft-
ware applications for added safety.
Log on to Windows as an administrator.
NOTE
Depending on the computer, preparatory steps may be necessary before installation.
Before installing the application, be sure to read the Operating Instructions or Refer-
ence Manual of the computer.

Before Installing the Software

1 Log on to Windows as an administrator.
If the following software applications are already installed, uninstall them.
• B.H.A B's Recorder GOLD
• B.H.A B's CLiP
• Writing software other than those described above
• InterVideo WinDVD

Windows XP
Select [start] - [Control Panel] - [Add or Remove Programs].
Windows 2000
Select [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [Add/Remove Programs].
② Select the software and uninstall it by following the on-screen instructions.
③ After uninstalling all of the above applications, restart the computer.
2 Insert the drive into the multimedia pocket. (
3 Windows XP
Right-click [(x:)]*
remove the check mark from [Enable CD recording on this drive].
(Remove the check mark from [Enable CD recording on this drive] every time a new
user is added.)
* "x" is the drive letter. You can change the letter to suit your preference.

Windows 2000
Select [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [Add/Remove Programs] to check which
version of Windows Media Player is provided on your computer, and then follow the
steps below to uninstall Adaptec CD-Burning Plug-in.
<When Windows Media Player 7 is installed>
① Select [Windows Media Player 7] - [Change/Remove] in [Add/Remove Programs].
