Each feedback decoder needs to have an address.
This can be assigned in programming mode. The
address and any other parameters can be changed
at any time and as often as desired.
In order to display track occupancy in a control panel
a function decoder programmed to the same address
can be used.
Several Sx-Busses
Some SELECTRIX
systems provide other tact
®
synchronised Sx-buses (Sx1, Sx2 etc.) besides the
Sx0-bus. Thus the first Sx-bus (Sx0) is available for
controlling locos and the others for switching or feed-
back for function decoders, feedback decoders etc.
The feedback decoder 5262 can operate with such
synchronised Sx-buses. Function or accessory
decoders that are supposed to respond to the
feedback decoder have to be connected to the same
Sx-bus and set to the same address.
Power Supply from the Central Unit and from
Boosters
If the power supplied by one SELECTRIX
unit is not sufficient to operate all locomotives on
the layout then boosters are used to amplify the
power available. For this purpose the tracks on the
layout have to be divided into separate sectors
(circuits). All sectors have to be isolated on both
tracks (double pole) e.g. with isolating fishplates.
Each feedback decoder can only observe track
sectors within one booster district. In other words all
tracks connected to the "blue" side of a feedback
decoder have to be wired to the "red" side of the
same decoder (see fig. 3).
Connecting Reed Contacts and Push Buttons
Track contacts and reed contacts can be wired to
the feedback decoder via 10 kOhm resistors (are
included). The contact track respectively the second
pole of the reed contact has to be connected to the
"red" side of the track (see fig. 7).
Push buttons or switches are also connected via
resistors (10 – 20 kOhm) to the feedback decoder.
The other pole of the push buttons or switches has
to be wired to the "red" track supply (see fig. 8).
Programming of the Feedback Decoder
The address as well as the delay in response and
turning off for all track sectors can be programmed.
In order to programm the decoder a device such as
Lok-Control 2000, a Control-Handy or a computer
interface and the appropriate software is needed.
For programming the feedback decoder the addres-
ses (channels) 0, 1 and 2 will be temporarily used,
in other words the content of these addresses will
be changed during programming.
First you connect the decoder to the Sx-bus and
then switch the central unit to STOP and Lok-Control
2000 or Control-Handy to function mode. Press the
programming button on the feedback decoder. As
soon as the red LED lights up, the decoder is in
programming mode. The decoder writes the latest
values into addresses 0, 1 and 2. Now you can
®
central
check and change the values in the addresses 0, 1
and 2 (see table 1).
Press the programming button of the decoder when
you want to exit the programming mode. The LED
will go out and the settings are stored in the feedback
decoder.
Please note: Only one decoder may be in programm-
ing mode at any one time. No accessory or feedback
decoder with address 0, 1 or 2 may be connected
to the Sx-bus otherwise the settings could be
distorted.
