The saw chain is delivered in a set. It contains the saw chain (70 links, 79cm), two
handles, a nylon cord 5m, a heaving line 5m, connecting hooks, and the GUIDEX
guiding piece.
To work without extension, just snap the connecting hooks with the handles into
the holes at the ends of the saw chain. Use pliers to close the loops in the hooks
to prevent them from coming loose during use.
To work with an extension attach the plain nylon cord to one of the ends of the
saw chain with the connecting hook and attach the GUIDEX guiding piece and the
heaving weight to the other end:
1. Remove the wire hook from the GUIDEX guiding piece.
2. Snap the wire hook into the hole at the end of the saw chain.
3. Attach the GUIDEX guiding piece to the wire hook with the end marked with
red paint.
4. Guide the free end of the heaving line through the other hole in the GUIDEX
guiding piece and knot it to the wire hook. Please also note the drawing.
Throw the heaving line over the branch and pull the saw chain over the branch.
The GUIDEX guiding piece makes sure it ends up with the teeth on the branch.
Knot the handles to the cords in a comfortable height and saw off the branch by
pulling the saw chain back and forth.
Watch out! The falling branch or the saw chain might hit you when the
branch comes off.
Do not use the saw chain if it has been damaged. Do not shorten it by
taking out links.
Always wear gloves when using the saw chain.
Use oil to maintain the metal parts. The saw chain is not stainless, do not leave it
outside and keep it in the pouch that comes with it.
