Installation

For outdoor use, we recommend that you choose a location that is protected from
rain (e.g. under the eaves) to prevent the formation of droplets on the camera's front
panel that will cause a distorted and unusable image.
The camera is equipped with a pre-mounted wall bracket. This is to be tightened to a suitable
place using three screws. Use appropriate screws and wall plugs, depending on the surface.
Make sure when screwing into place or when drilling holes that cables or wires are
not damaged.
If the connection cable is to be laid so it is hidden, a correspondingly large hole has to be drilled
underneath the wall bracket, so the plug can be passed through. The wall bracket will then
cover this opening and protect the cable from intentional damage.
Alternatively, the cable may be lead outward via a small opening on the side of the wall mount.
Protect the cable with a suitable cable conduit or similar.
The connection plugs are not waterproof and should be kept indoors, otherwise they
will corrode.
Place the camera as desired and fasten it.
The camera should not be pointed directly at bright sources of light or the sun, since the image
will be overexposed.
Connection
The camera is equipped with a connection cable with two connectors on the end:
• Cinch plug: The video signal (PAL) is available over this.
• Circular socket: The external power supply is connected to this socket.
If you install and use the camera in outdoor areas, the two connectors have to be
placed in a location that is protected from humidity (in dry interior areas). Otherwise,
the connectors will corrode.
Set the correct input channel on the display device to display the camera image.
Afterwards, adjust the camera carefully, in order to be able to monitor the desired area.
In the dark, the IR LEDs are activated automatically. However, the LEDs are not visible to the
human eye. Please bear in mind that at night, coloured image reproduction changes into a
black and white monochrome representation as a matter of principle.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any
reason.
Occasionally, clean the camera from dust and dirt, especially the front screen. Use a dry, clean
and soft cloth, moistened with water. Do not rub too hard, since otherwise scratch marks will
occur on the glass; this will cause deterioration in the image quality!
Never point the jet of water from a garden hose or a high pressure cleaner at the camera; do
not use aggressive cleaning agents.
Tips and Notes
• Do not use the camera in outdoor areas without using the sunscreen cover, since this may
cause overheating and damage to the camera.
• Install the camera so that it cannot be reached without using auxiliary means.
The same applies to the connection cables. Ideally, they should be laid in a plastic or metal
pipe.
• Depending on the mounting location, make sure you use suitable lightning protection (e.g.
installation on a pole).
• Longer cable lengths cause deterioration in the video signal. In this case, use a suitable
amplifi er.
If the cable used to supply the power is too long, the voltage will drop, and thus the operating
voltage for the camera will no longer be suffi cient. This may lead to stripes in the image or to
a loss of signal. If necessary, use a cable with a larger cross-section to reduce the voltage
drop.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic devices do not constitute household waste.
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regu-
lations.
