Solar-Powered Vibrating
Mole Repeller
Item no. 71 00 02
Intended Use
The solar powered vibrating mole repeller is intended to repel underground rodents such as
moles, voles and mice by generating sound waves.
The areas of application for this product are in garden and lawn areas.
The 3 enclosed 1.2V mignon batteries (type: AA) are recharged by the solar cell; used batteries
need not be replaced.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the
risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc. The safety instruction must be followed at all times.
No part of the product should be modified or reassembled.
The safety instructions are to be observed without fail!
Explanation of the Symbols
A lightning-bolt symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g. danger of electric
shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates a particular risk during handling,
operation and control.
The "hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions. We do not assume any liability for any consequen-
tial damage!
We do not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by
improper handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The war-
ranty will be void in such cases.
• The product must not be modified or converted, as not only the CE approval will
become void but also the warranty.
• Do not touch leaking or oxidised batteries with your bare hands. Use protective
gloves.
• The power supply for the solar-powered mole repeller consists of a combination of
a solar cell and rechargeable batteries. The solar cell supplies the device with
power when the solar radiation is sufficient and simultaneously recharges the three
internal 1.2V mignon batteries (type: AA). When sunlight is weak, the batteries
take over the supply of power to the device.
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or
heavy mechanical stress..
• After rapid changes in temperature, the product requires some time to adjust to
the surrounding temperature. Wait until the product has adjusted to the ambient
temperature before use.
• This product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!
• Please contact qualified personnel if you are unsure about the safety or the correct
use of the product.
• Never leave the packaging material lying around unattended. Plastic film /
bags etc. can be dangerous playthings for children, there is a risk of suffocation.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect
the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation.
• It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works and
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time
or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress in transit.
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the
industrial workers' society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
• Do not expose the product to any mechanical stress. Falls from low heights and
pressure can damage the device.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair may only be carried out by a qualified
specialist or a specialised repair shop.
• If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please contact
our technical service or another specialist.
Notes on rechargeable batteries

• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Only use rechargeable batteries with this product. Do not recharge normal batteries. There is
Version 04/13
a risk of explosion!
• Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting batteries.
°
• Do not leave the batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by
children or domestic animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• If your skin comes into contact with leaking or damaged batteries, you may suffer burns. For
this reason you should use suitable protective gloves.
• Make sure that the batteries are not short-circuited, taken to pieces or thrown into a fire. There
is a risk of explosion!
• If the device is not to be used for a long time (e.g. storage) remove the batteries. Old recharge-
able batteries can leak and cause damage to the product; loss of guarantee/warranty!
For the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries, please read
the chapter "Disposal".

Functional Description

The solar-powered mole repeller produces sound waves at 30 second intervals with changing
frequency ranges.
Since most underground rodents have poor eyesight and instead have a good sense of hearing,
these low frequency vibrations have an irritating effect on these animals. This causes these
types of animal to migrate or avoid the area surrounding the device. The device works on moles,
mice and voles.
The power supply for the solar-powered mole repeller consists of a combination of a solar cell
and rechargeable batteries. With sufficient sunlight, the solar cell on top of the device supplies it
with power and charges the enclosed NiMH batteries. When sunlight is weak, the batteries take
over the supply of power to the device.
Inserting the Batteries
Insert the batteries into the device as follows:
• Unscrew the green sealing cap by turning it anticlockwise.
• Insert the 3 1.2 V mignon batteries enclosed, paying attention to the
correct polarity (type: AA).
• Then set the closing cap on and screw it tight.

Installation

For the best effect on unwanted rodents, the device should be placed as close as possible to the
spot where most of the animals appear.
Under optimum conditions the device covers an area of up to 1,200m
erties can have a significant influence on the range. Dry, sandy soil and big rocks, roots etc. have
a negative effect on the coverage area. In this case, covering a large area might require the use
of several devices.
Make sure that the solar cell is not covered or shaded. Do not position the solar-powered mole
repeller under bushes, trees, porches etc., since this reduces the exposure to the sun. In this
case, the built-in batteries might not be charged sufficiently and they might fail to supply the
solar-powered mole repeller with power during times when there is weak sunlight or at night
(reduced operating time).
Please make sure that both the closing cap are screwed
on tightly. This guarantees protection against moisture
ingress.
The solar-powered mole repeller should be placed so the solar cell is exposed
to the sunlight for as long as possible, so the batteries can be charged as
close to the maximum as possible.
