2. Cassette Deck

Measuring instruments/equipment: Frequency counter, AF voltmeter, Wow and flutter meter, Fe test cassette 3150Hz/8000Hz (e.g. 449).
Adjustment
Connect a frequency counter to the AF output.
1. Tape speed
Insert test cassette, play 3150Hz.
Connect a AF voltmeter to the AF output.
2. Head gap angle
(Azimuth) Unhook the cassette shaft carrier
Insert test cassette, close the cassette shaft
(leave the operating part open), play 8kHz.
Connect a frequency counter to CN201 Pin 4 / Pin 2
3. Bias frequency
(GND).
Insert a recordable cassette.
Function: Record-Start.
Connect a AF voltmeter to CN201 Pin 4 / Pin 2 (GND).
4. Bias level
Insert a recordable cassette.
Function: Record-Start.

Adjustment Process
With adjustment control (in the cassette motor) set the
±
frequency to 3150Hz 0.1%.
Bandgeschw.
Tape speed
With the head adjustment screw 1 set the left and right
channel to maximum level.
The levels of the two channels must not differ by more than
3dB.

Set the frequency to 60kHz ± 0.5kHz with T201.
Adjust to 8V with SFR201.
