CO-100 Smoke detector
Item no. 1216560
Item no. 1216561 (Set of 3)
Intended use
The smoke detector reliably warns against life-threatening smoke emission. Power is supplied with a 9V
battery, meaning that the smoke detector is also suitable for mobile applications, e.g. in caravans. A smoke
detector is a fire prevention tool. However, this does not mean that fire and flammable materials can be
handled carelessly. Fire and flammable materials are very dangerous and must always be handled
with the necessary precautions!
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the
product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and
keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.
This product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. All company names and
product names are trademarks of their respective owners. All rights reserved.

Recommended mounting locations for the smoke detector
• Place the smoke detector in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms. Try to ensure that there are escape
routes from bedrooms, as these rooms are usually the furthest from the exit. If there is more than one
bedroom, install additional smoke detectors in each bedroom.
• Install smoke detectors to provide protection for stairs, as stairs can easily act as a chimney for smoke and
fire and contribute to the further spread of the fire.
• Ensure that at least one smoke detector is installed on each floor.
• Place a smoke detector in smokers' rooms or in rooms where there are electrical appliances.
• Smoke and other combustion residues rise upwards to the ceiling and spread horizontally. Install smoke
detectors on the ceiling in the middle of the room, as this is the point that is closest to all other places in
the room. Ceiling installation is recommended in normal houses. However, in mobile homes (caravans)
you will have to install the detector on interior side panels to prevent a thermal barrier which may form
on the ceiling.
• If you install the smoke detector on the ceiling, ensure that there is a distance of at least 50 cm from the
side wall and 61 cm from each corner (see figure A).
• The smoke detector must be secured either to a strut suspended from the ceiling or similar places. Be sure
to pay attention to the minimum distances from room corners and walls.

Avoid these mounting locations
• Kitchen - Kitchen smoke could activate the alarm unintentionally.
• Garage - Combustions residues are produced when you start your car.
• In front of or near heating systems or air-conditioning units.
• At the highest point of "A"-shaped roofs.
• In rooms where the temperature falls below +5 °C or rises above +38 °C.
• Do not mount a smoke detector on the ceiling of a caravan or similar spaces. The sun's rays warm
up the ceiling and the air in the top part of the room. Hot air just under the ceiling may prevent the smoke
from a dangerous smouldering fire from reaching the smoke detector.
The smoke detector will not function without a battery. A new battery must be
inserted when the "Weak battery signal" sounds. Test the smoke detector weekly
and after changing the battery by pressing the test button for at least four seconds.
Read and follow all instructions in order to ensure that the device functions safely.
Escape route
Devise an escape route and practise for an emergency.
Basic principles of an escape route:
• Create a floor plan which shows all doors and windows and assigns ideally two escape routes to each
room. A rope ladder may be necessary for windows on the second floor.
• Arrange a family meeting to discuss the escape route and tell everyone what to do in the event of fire/
smoke.
