Functional description
The time shown by the radio controlled time display is
based on an atomic caesium clock with a mathematical
accuracy of 1 sec per 1 million years operated by the
Federal Technical Office for Physics in Braunschweig.
The time is encoded and sent by a long wave transmit-
ter (77.5 kHz) in Mainflingen near Frankfurt with a
transmission radius of approx. 1500 km. If your radio
controlled memory clock is situated inside this trans-
mission range it will receive the signal, convert it and
the displayed time and date will always be absolutely
accurate. Radio controlled clocks do not require the
manual setting of winter and summer time.

Dispose useless devices in accordance with the rele-
vant legal regulations.
Maintenance and care
Apart from the change of batteries, the clock is mainte-
nance-free. To clean the display and clock housing, only
use a damp cloth or brush. Under no circumstances use
aggressive detergents or chemical solutions as this
might result in damage to the clock.
Troubleshooting
If the DCF time is not received within 10 minutes check
the following points before manually setting the time.
A minimum distance of 1.5 to 2 metres is required between
the radio controlled memory clock and any source of inter-
ference such as computer monitors or TV sets.
Avoid placing the clock directly or near metal doors,
window frames or other metal constructions.
The DCF signal will be unavoidably weaker in rooms
made from reinforced concrete (cellars, multi-story
buildings etc.). In extreme cases place the alarm clock
