Universal Dimmer - Functional Description
Upon connection of the supply voltage, the microproces-
sor integrated in the dimmer evaluates the characteristics
of the connected service load and decides whether phase-
angle or phase-section control is to be employed.
During this calibration process, the lighting installation
switches on for up to 6 seconds. During this time, the fault
LED lights and the device is blocked.
CAUTION
In order to ensure that the precise load is recognised by
the dimmer, this should neither be operated with short
circuit nor with secondary open-circuit conventional
transformers when the supply voltage is connected.
Automatic Setting of Mode of Operation
In general, the central dimmer can be controlled via
pushbuttons or data line D.
When the data line is connected, the central dimmer
ignores operation via pushbutton lines.
