6. If you are not using the battery charger, remove the
plug from the mains. Do not pull out the plug by the
cable.
7. If you drop the battery charger or it is interrupted by
another strong mechanical use, have it checked for
damage by a recognised professional workshop
before you use it again. Damaged parts must be
repaired.
8. Handle the battery with care. Do not drop it or
knock it.
9. Never try to repair the battery or battery charger
yourself. Repairs must always be carried out by a
recognised professional workshop to avoid the risk
of accidents.
10. Before cleaning or servicing the battery or battery
charger, always remove the charger's plug from the
mains.
11. Never charge the battery if the ambient temperature
is below 10° C or above 40° C.
12. The ventilation holes of the charger should always be
free.
13. The battery may not be short-circuited.
If short-circuiting occurs, power with a high
electrical current will flow. This can lead to the
battery overheating, catching fire or exploding, which can
result in damage to the battery or the user having an accident.
Therefore:
1. Do not connect cables to the poles of the battery.
2. Ensure that there are no metal objects (nails,
paperclips, coins, etc.) in the battery holder.
3. Do not leave the battery in water or rain.
4. Damaged battery chargers or batteries which can no
longer be charged should be disposed of as special waste.
Do not dispose of them together with domestic waste.
5. Never throw the battery into water or a fire, it may
explode.
3. ASSEMBLY
TIGHTENING AND LOOSENING THE
BATTERY
Fig. 2
Check that the outside of the battery or the machine
is clean and dry before connecting the charger.
•
Place the battery (2) in the foot of the machine as
indicated in the diagram. Press it into place until it
clicks into place.
•
Press the locking buttons on both sides (3) before
loosening the battery and then pull the battery out of
the foot of the machine.
CHANGING THE BLADES
Fig. 4
The machine has two blades. They must be both changed
at the same time to ensure the product stays balanced. If
the machine vibrates when in use, check that both blades
are worn evenly.
•
Remove the battery pack to prevent accidental
operation.
4
•
Grip the blade and push towards to the center of the
hub. Remove both blades.• Grip the new blade in
the middle and put over the metal hub. Pull away
from the center of the blade until you feel it snap into
place.
MOUNTING THE PROTECTION SHIELD
Fig. 6
Place the protection shield on the machine as shown in
the picture.
4. USE
STARTING AND STOPPING
Fig. 1
The handle is designed with an unlock button to prevent
accidental starting.
•
Press and hold the unlock button (5) located on either
side of the handle, then squeeze the main switch (4)
•
Release the main switch to stop the blades.
The blades continue to spin after the trigger is
released. Wait for it to stop before releasing your
grip on the handle or putting your hand near the cutting area.
ADJUSTING THE HEAD
Fig. 3
The machine can be transformed from trimmer mode to
edging mode easily: Grasp the head part of the trimmer
and turn the handle of the trimmer.
Ensure that you keep your fingers clear of the
trigger during these operations.
CHARGING BATTERIES
Fig. 5
The battery that comes with the machine is not
fully charged.
•
Only use the battery charger at temperatures
between +10 and +40 °Celsius.
•
Only use the battery charger in dry rooms.
Charging
•
Remove the battery from the machine
•
Push the adapter plug of the charger into the battery
•
Plug the mains adapter into the (wall) socket
•
The charging process starts; the red LED is now on
•
If the battery is completely discharged or not used
for a long period, it takes about 24 hours to charge
the battery. Normally it takes about 12 hours.
•
Place the battery in the tool after charging.
STORAGE
When storing the machine for longer than 6 weeks:
•
Fully discharge the battery (by running the product)
and then recharge the battery for 12 hours.
•
Store in a dry and frost-free place.
•
Recharge the battery every 1 or 2 months during the
winter, because the battery will discharge slowly.
5. SERVICE & VEDLIGEHOLDELSE
forudsætning for lang tids tilfredsstillende brug.
RENGØRING
Ventilationsrillerne på maskinen skal holdes rene, så
man undgår overophedning af motoren. Kappen
Bagest i
denne brugsanvisning er der et sprængbillede med dele,
der kan bestilles.
MILJØ
For at undgå at maskinen beskadiges under transport,
leveres den i en solid emballage. De fleste af
emballagematerialerne kan recirkuleres. Disse
materialer kan bringes til den lokale genbrugsplads.
Kasserede maskiner kan afleveres hos den lokale Ferm
forhandler. Her bortskaffes de på en miljøvenlig måde.
NiCd celler kan recirkuleres. Aflever dem til den lokale
Ferm forhandler eller den lokale genbrugsplads. De
indsamlede batterier recirkuleres eller bortskaffes på en
miljøvenlig måde.
