Variant Configuration
After a variant changeover, an inconsistent
configuration may occur because there is no
automatic changeover of parameters.
It is therefore recommended that the setup be
done in the following order:
1. Variant setting
2. Perform factory reset or set valid parameters.
6.4.1
Description
Allows switching between different process data profiles,
as well as switching between the ADSS Smart Sensor
Profile and Legacy Smart Sensor Profile.

Device Variant
This parameter indicates which variant is currently set. The
device variant can be changed either with this parameter
or by using the IO-Link compatibility mode. If this
parameter is written, the device variant is not changed
immediately but instead after the device is restarted. If the
device variant is changed via the IO-Link compatibility
mode, the change in this parameter is visible immediately.
This parameter is not changed by a reset.
