Safety advice
CAUTION! A damaged mains lead presents a serious
danger to life from electric shock. In the event of damage,
repairs or other problems with the lamp, please contact
the Service Centre or an electrician.
N ever let the lamp come into contact with water or other liquids.
N ever open any electrical devices such as switches, fittings etc. or
allow any object to be inserted into them. This sort of interference
can lead to a serious danger to life from electric shock.
Only touch the insulated part of the plug when connecting to or
disconnecting from power!
B efore installation ensure that the available mains voltag e agrees
with the operating voltage required for the lamp (230–240 V ∼).
To avoid danger of fire and injury
DANGER OF INJURY! Check all bulbs and shades for damage
immediately after unpacking. Do not fit a defective shade into the
lamp. In this event contact the Service Centre for a replacement.
DANGER OF BURNS! Ensure the lamp has been switched off
and allowed to cool before you touch it. In this way you will avoid
the danger of burns. Light bulbs develop a great deal of heat.
R eplace defective bulbs immediately. Before replacing the bulb,
always remove the mains plug from the mains socket.
A llow the lamp to cool for at least 15 minutes before replacing a
defective bulb.
DANGER OF FIRE! Always ensure that there is at
least 0.2 m clear distance between the lamp and other
0.2 m
items of furniture or furnishings.
D o not allow any objects to cover the lamp. Fire can result from
the development of too much heat.
