SHIMMING (FOR USA AND CANADA)
Measuring steps:
• Install the bearing
onto the shimming gauge.
Base plate:
YB-34446-1............................
Compression spring:
YB-34446-3............................
Press plate:
YB-34446-5............................
Gauge pin:
YB-34446-7............................
NOTE:
• After the nut contacts the spring, tighten it
another four full turns.
• If the original shim(s) is unavailable, start
with a 0.50 mm shim.
• Measure the specified measurement
(M) using the feeler gauge.
Feeler gauge:
YU-26900-8
YU-26900-9
NOTE:
Measure the clearance between the
shimming gauge and the press plate, as
shown.
3. Adjust:
• Shimming-gauge-to-press-plate
clearance
Remove or add shim (s).
Available shim thickness:
0.10, 0.12, 0.15, 0.18, 0.30, 0.40,
0.50 mm
NOTE:
• (M0)-(M) should be as close to '0' as
possible.
• If the specified measurement (M) is larger
than the specified value (M0), add the
shim(s)
If the specified measurement (M) is smaller
than the specified value (M0), remove the
shim(s)
