RECOIL STARTER ASSEMBLY
DISASSEMBLING THE RECOIL
STARTER ASSEMBLY
1. Release:
• Spiral spring
NOTE:
Before removing the circlip and float washer,
turn the sleeve drum to make the spiral
spring inside the sleeve drum free
Releasing steps:
(1)Turn the sleeve drum 1 so that the
a
cutaway on the outer surface of the
sheave drum faces toward the starter
handle.
(2)Pass the starter rope 2 through the
a
cutaway .
(3)Turn the sheave drum clockwise until
the spiral spring is free.
2. Remove:
• Circlip 3
• Float washer 4
3. Remove:
• Sheave drum 1
WARNING
• When removing the sheeve drum, be sure
to turn the sheave drum upside down to
prevent the spiral spring from popping up
at you.
• Do not leave the sheave drum removed.
The spiral spring may pop out.
Removing steps:
(1)Insert a slotted-head screwdriver 5 into
the hole in the sheave drum 1.
(2)Push down the spiral spring so that it
releases from the sheave drum 1.
(3)Remove the sheave drum 1.
