12. Troubleshooting
The following table describes the possible problems which may arise when you use the wood splitter and
provides recommended remedial measures for dealing with them.
Problem
Motor fails to start
Trunk fails to split
The trunk pusher moves jerkily or
with excessive vibrations
Escaping oil from the cylinder or
other point.
The trunk pusher does not move

Probable cause
No power from power supply.
Incorrect power cable.
Defective switch.
Trunk is incorrectly positioned
Trunk exceeds permitted

Wedge fails to cut
Oil leak
Air in the oil circuit
Ventilation screw not unscrewed
during operation.
Ventilation screw not screwed tight
during transportation
Oil drainage screw not screwed
tight
Oil seal is worn
Incorrect direction of rotation of
motor.

Remedy
Check the fuse.
Check the extension cable.
Use a 5-pole power cable.
Contact an authorized dealer.
Position the trunk correctly
Reduce the size of the trunk
Sharpen the wedge. Remove
burrs and nicks from the wedge
Contact an authorized dealer
Check the oil level.
Top up if necessary.
If the problem remains, contact
an authorized dealer.
Unscrew the ventilation screw
Always tighten the ventilation
screw before transporting
Tighten the oil drainage screw
Contact an authorized dealer
Switch off the machine
immediately.
Check the direction of rotation and
change if necessary (see section
7.7).
