4 Safety Precautions
■ If the roller hits a foreign object when working,
the roller or parts of it may be thrown up at
high velocity. This may result in injury to peo‐
ple and damage to property.
► Remove foreign objects from the work area.
► Mark and drive round obstacles (e.g. roots,
tree stumps).
■ When the control bar is released, the roller
continues to turn for a short time. This may
result in serious injury to people.
► Wait until the roller is no longer turning.
■ Sparks can be produced if the turning roller
hits a hard object. Sparks may cause fires in
highly flammable environments. This may
result in serious or fatal injury to people and
damage to property.
► Do not work in a highly flammable environ‐
ment.
■ If the lawn scarifier is stopped on a sloping
surface, it may unintentionally roll away. This
may result in injury to people and damage to
property.
► Only let go of the lawn scarifier if it is on a
level surface and cannot roll away by itself.
■ If objects are attached to the handlebar, the
additional weight may cause the lawn scarifier
to tip over. This may result in injury to people
and damage to property.
► Do not attach objects to the handlebar.
■ If the lawn scarifier is left unattended during a
work break, bystanding or uninstructed people
can start the lawn scarifier and be seriously
injured.
► If the lawn scarifier is unattended, switch off
the lawn scarifier and remove the battery.
DANGER
■ If working near live wires, the roller may come
into contact with live wires and damage them.
This may result in serious or fatal injury to the
user.
► Do not work near live wires.
■ The user may be struck by lighting if working
during a thunderstorm. This may result in seri‐
ous or fatal injury to the user.
► In case of thunderstorms: Do not continue
work.
