4.1.4 Event messages from BVS ID

4.1.4.1 Status message

For each status change and upon request BVS ID sends a status message.
 NOTE
BVS ID supports two different modes of operation regarding status messages:
• Push: If the option "Send status information automatically" is activated, a status message is sent
each time a status changes. The latest sent status is therefore valid until a new status is sent.
The controlling system must expect a status message at any moment in the communication
flow, but it cannot miss a status change.
• Pull: If the option "Send status information automatically" is deactivated, status messages are
solely sent upon an explicit request. The controlling system is responsible to request the status
at a feasible point during the communication flow. It does not know how long the status remains
valid. If the controlling system requests the status message at a moment where result containers
are sent, the result container may be sent in between the status request and the status
message.
A mix of push and pull mode is possible.

Status word. A set bit indicates that the status is active (see the following table).

This bit signals that BVS ID is waiting for a
trigger signal, i.e. is ready to acquire an
image.
This bit signals that "File Device" is selected
as image source. The simulation ("File
Device") can be used to display stored
images.
